In 2016, participants from different parts of the country, including Kentucky, West Virginia, Michigan, and even Colorado, joined Ohio members to make the 3-day event a tremendous success. The Ohio CASA/GAL Association was honored to host all participants who believe strongly in CASA’s mission to serve the best interest of children who are abused and neglected.
CASA volunteers in Ohio make a tremendous impact by serving nearly 9,000 children each year. With case filings on the increase, in part due to the opiate epidemic, resources and volunteers are being stretched thin. But you are making a difference. With your commitment, you are ensuring the children you serve have a voice and a chance at a better life. While there is more work to be done, Ohio CASA is on target to expand to 50 counties capable of serving 10,000 children annually. CASA volunteers and conference participants helped make this happen.
Because of your continued support, the Celebrate Kids! Conference remains the premier educational event in Ohio for CASA volunteers … and it’s growing. With more than 40 educational workshops offering more than 500 participants the opportunity to engage, connect and reflect, the value of the conference experience is clear.
Thank you for all that you have done, and all that you continue to do. We look forward to seeing you in September.
Douglas R. Stephens
Ohio CASA/GAL Association Executive Director

Expanded Workshops (continued)
Seating for all workshops will be first-come, first served, and will close once the room reaches capacity as provided by fire code. No one will be admitted to a workshop after the sign-in sheet is full. To secure a seat in a specific workshop, participants may wish to consider volunteering to monitor the workshop.
Please provide your workshop preferences on the registration form. While this information is vital for planning purposes, it does not guarantee you a seat in your preferred workshop (see Seating, above).
A copy of your preferences will be provided at conference. You will also receive a copy by e-mail if you use our online registration option.
There will be three workshop formats:
Keynote & Plenary Sessions
(Wednesday & Thursday)
All participants are encouraged to attend. A Welcome Reception will follow the Opening Keynote Wednesday evening, and a plated lunch will be provided Thursday before the Plenary Session begins.
Kickoff & Breakout Workshops
(Wednesday & Thursday)
90-minute workshops are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.
Expanded Workshops (Friday)
3-hour workshops on various subjects. Expanded workshops may incorporate any of the following to enhance the learning experience: in-depth group discussions, interactive participation elements, technical skill development activities, introspection and analysis, and various media elements.
To secure a seat in a specific workshop, you may wish to consider acting as a monitor for it. Being a workshop monitor is a great way to meet new people as you network with other volunteers, colleagues and speakers.
We are looking for two monitors for every workshop, each with different responsibilities:
