Celebrate Kids With Us in September

The 2018 Celebrate Kids! Conference is less than four months away and registration is now open.

The event runs from September 26 to 28 at the DoubleTree Columbus-Worthington. The program is informative and diverse with dynamic and engaging speakers. Once again, the conference will offer CASA volunteers their required 12.0 hours of Sup.R. 48 in-service training. Social work and legal professionals can also earn required continuing education hours.

Best of all, registration fees are the same as last year, making the Celebrate Kids! Conference an unparalleled education value.

Information about the agenda, workshops, speakers, registration and payment is available here. Additional information relevant to program directors is available here.

Registration will remain open until September 14, or until the conference reaches capacity, whichever comes first. For the first time in the event’s 24-year history the process is entirely online.

LODGING
Ohio CASA has again arranged a discounted nightly rate for hotel guests of the DoubleTree and the room block is larger than ever to meet growing demand. Participants and program directors are encouraged to make lodging reservations early as Ohio CASA has not arranged discounts at other area hotels.

WORKSHOP SEATING, PREFERENCES & MONITORS
Workshop seating is limited by fire code and will be first-come, first-served. Workshop preferences are requested for planning purposes only and do not guarantee participants a seat in any workshop.

The way to secure a seat is to volunteer to serve as a monitor. Lead and assistant monitors are needed for each of the 39 workshops and the plenary session. More information is available here.

Ohio CASA will periodically list the workshops with the most interest on Facebook and Twitter so participants can prepare to make alternate selections in the event preferred workshops close due to capacity.

ANNUAL AWARDS CEREMONY
The conference will close with the Ohio CASA Annual Awards ceremony. There is still plenty of time to submit your nomination for the 2018 Rising Star Volunteer, Pro Star Volunteer, Attorney Advocate, and Mary Ellen Wilson Social Worker of the year. Winners will receive complementary registration and lodging for two nights at the conference; recognition at the awards luncheon with up to four guest passes for the event; and recognition at the 2019 CASA Day in Ohio celebration. More information is available here.

Our staff is looking forward to another successful Celebrate Kids! Conference. Please contact us with any questions. We’ll see you in September!
