Hope for the Holidays

Life is a year-round adventure. Toward the end of every year, we like to reflect on our progress, and give thanks to those who have helped make it so. Last year, we were able to help more than 9,500 children in Ohio have safety and permanency because of people like you. Your help is their hope.

Even though he wishes he didn’t, Shaq still remembers the day he was removed from care. But he also remembers when he first met his CASA Volunteer, Kathy. Even now, Kathy remains a trusted adult in his life. Aside from the challenges that come with being an adolescent in foster care, Shaq also experienced clinical depression. Through the support of his faith-based community, and strong advocacy from Kathy and the ProKids CASA team in Cincinnati, Shaq got connected to professional resources. He is now thriving as a young adult and college student, and plans to become a teacher so he can help other children have happy and memorable childhoods.

Donations from our community keep Ohio CASA moving forward. Just this year, we have started to launch new programs in three more Ohio counties, but still have a long way to go before we are helping children who have been abused or neglected in all of Ohio’s 88 counties. Please consider making a $20 donation today. 100% of your donation will be used for local program and volunteer support, so more kids like Shaq grow up knowing there is adult who cares for them and will fight for their safety and happiness year-round.

Thank you for your continued support of children and families.
